Introducing... Smurf!!!

Couple of issues sorted recently

1. Cooling system fixed! More here: https://zroadster.org/threads/mystery-solved-smurfs-cooling-system.22533/

2. Brake pad wear sensors replaced, due to a light on the dash

3. Airbag light sorted. Was getting a drivers side pre tensioner error. I removed the seat to find the wiring worn through (below). I rewire the tensioner and reset the light and I'm pleased to say it's gone now

Time for an MOT!

Unfortunately the Smurf failed its MOT on two things

  1. Front tyres below minimum
  2. Near side headlight too high.
Easy fixes

I thought the tyres were just legal but must have scrubbed off too much at Silverstone on Monday

I thought I'd check the age of the tyres

That's right my friends, these awful "Fulda Carat Extreme" tyres were produced the 12th week of 2001, making them 17 years old! I can't believe I did a track session on them!

Some Michelin Pilot Sport 4s are in the pipeline...

...I can't believe I did a track session on them!...
And you did pretty well too I may add:thumbsup:. Easy fixes for the MOT too then another 12 months of smiles;)

I like it when it’s only a couple of simple things to sort out

Lucky with those tyres

Today I finally had chance to install the extended leather I've had for about 10 months. The binnacle needed repair

A bit fiddly but all done in 5 hours. I've a few bits of leather to tidy up with scuffmaster

Very happy!

Brilliant job Martin. Looks the dogs doodahs:thumbsup:

What a superb interior - makes my plain black look very boring!

And 5 hours to do the job - simply amazing! Just shows how user-friendly the Z3 design really is.

Nice one Martin  looks great

Amazing job Martin, I had enough of a struggle removing one piece of trim on the Z3 to grease the clutch pedal!!
Are you bringing Smurf to the NF run next Sunday? Would be great to see in the flesh!

Yeah big job but worth it.

Not sure yet Ian, @Rally is trying to get me to bring the coupe!
