I have 9 years of no claims on my VW California and have a Z3 3.0 roadster too.

I have just paid for a nice 2007 Z4 Coupe and will take delivery in the New Year.

I just enquired through Lancaster classic car insurance online and they quote £600+ for 3000 mls a year.

I have a garage but not really close to my house and they won't have that so it's quoted as being parked outside on the road.

I'm coming up 62. No points. Teacher, greying hair.......etc.

Where should I try to get a reasonable deal with the correct sort of agreed value?

I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one here who has had a similar experience.

Thanks

Paul

I’ve been happy with Amlins (the insurer) but they only work through brokers. I used Mannings.
No issues with agreed values and modifications. Decent insurer to deal with in the unfortunate event something happens.

My main daily is an X5, and this has all my ‘no claims’ discount.

I have 2 x Z3 insured. 1 is a 1.9 and the other a 2.8, they are both 1997.
I have these insured with Hagerty’s for under £300 each.

Interesting. Hagerty's online? Or broker?

Also say your part of this forum and you should get a discount. Really helpful and no future admin fees for changing licence plates.
Also they told me that adding anyone to the insurance who is over 30 and no accidents will not cost any more.

Sounds positive. I'll let you know how I get on.

I used Aviva multi car when I bought my z (three years ago) and they mirrored my ncd on both cars which was full ncd
So now both cars have full ncd on their own (touch wood)

Try Adrian Flux. I swapped from them to Lancaster for the Z3, worst mistake bit cheaper up front stitched me up when wanting to swap to Z4 then charged me £30 when i changed the reg number.

Interesting day. Tried Adrian Flux, Lancasters, Hagerty, Manning and Saga.
Worst price £660
Best Saga with breakdown cover, £350 excess and legal. £508.
Adrian Flux so pushy, Manning (Amlins) very good, professional, Hagerty had a real interest in cars and Saga were good too.
No negotiations to be had with Saga.
Good day's work.

Thanks everyone for your responses.

Glad to hear you’ve got it sorted. Also peace of mind that you know what other insurance companies wanted to charge.

I pay just under £250 for both of mine, full NCB etc. Interestingly, the MC is only £5 more than the Z3. Both with Manning this year.

That's brilliant. Perhaps I need to join the other 4 I have in with Admiral.

I'd vouch for Admiral for price if your car is standard. They don't like modifications.

Make sure that you contact them at renewal time. I've managed to knock a third off their renewal price every year.
