hi i found a site called pelican it covers a lot of things related to z3s it also covered the heater valve and in it there is a arrow shaped piston, if this sticks it will cause the car to blow hot air all the time, in yankie land you can get a repair kit, not seen one over hear,

I have seen a repair kit advertised for the heater valve but I believe the kit is for a different model valve. The valve fitted to my Z3 is sealed and cannot be repaired. I am not sure if a repairable valve was fitted to cars delivered to UK. This weekend my AC stopped working and I am beginning to suspect the temperature controller. I will be getting the gas pressure checked on Wednesday and I know for sure that the controller does not supply current to the valve regardless of which zone the pointer is located.

Thanks guys just read up on the post I was about to order a Cable but it looks like I should check a couple other things first....
