Only one thing worse. The Pooch found a rancid fish carcass left by a heron several weeks before.
Could smell it even after she’d had three baths.

When my lab was a pup she tried swallowing a rotton trout, I had to pull it out of her throat and walk the 5 miles home with the stench following me

Mans best friends can be a bit beastly at times. When Fred was a pup and even up to young adult he couldn't walk past roadkill without having a good lick, and we've caught him with his head inside a dead badger more than once. He honed his taste buds by peeling dead flattened frogs off the road, even the sun blackened ones. He's nearly 14 now and still fit as a flea so it hasn't harmed him
