After 18 years my M had to go.I just could not fit in any more. Enjoy the Porshe, it is different and it will take time to acclimatize but it is fun. I know I have gone down the same route.View attachment 76342
I know what you mean, the S54 was a fairly quick car, but the turbo is in another league. ( I probably shouldn't be saying that out loud on here!!);)

PS: thats a great colour for a turbo..

Carmon Red with beige interior.

What I can say out loud on here is my wife still has her 1.9 auto and to be quite frank on certain days that car is more fun than the Porsche. The Porsche is very efficient but with the number of cars on the road and the state of the roads you only use 20% of the performance most of the time. The recent article in Autocar about a race trip across Wales comparing a smart Fortwo and a new 911Turbo S keeping to speed limits proves the point. Over almost 200 miles the Porsche was just 9 minutes quicker.
On a sunny day my wife and I take the Z3 in preference to the Porsche and neither of us want to give up that opportunity. On a cold wet day it is a different matter.

Only the one on the pervious page, and that was when I went to test drive it. I like the way that the 1964 Silver Cloud that is parked next to is almost an exact colour match ( that’s about the only similarity ! ).

I’m picking the car up after Easter Monday, so I should get some photos then. I’ll do a before and after, as the weather is going to be peeing it down, it will be filthy by the time I get it home!! :(

I know exactly what you mean, the Porsche is almost too efficient and capable, that’s why I went from a C4S back into an M Roadster three years ago. Give it another year and I'll probably be back in a Z3M again!!!

I remember my first encounter with a 996 Turbo (it was X50 or something that had been tuned).
On an unrestricted bit of Autobahn I was at the max speed of my 330i (155mph) and it drew level long enough for a nod and then just walked away like I was doing 60!
Serious pace indeed.

I'm pleased I was able to influence your purchasing decision, are you sure you don't want another one? After all, there is only one thing better that an imola Z3M........ A pair of imola Z3M's! ;)

Would love to, but as I have spent a small fortune rebuilding mine I think I'll have to pass.
