Thanks, I'd watched the second video before removing the gearbox and followed it as closely as I could.

The first video definitely looks like it has the same linkage mechanism as mine so can definitely use that when removing it from the car (if it comes to that).

Will let you know how I get on. :)

Is it possible the cables are swapped?
I wondered that too but usually the way they lay "tells" you where they want to go.

Problem sorted! Took the selector out and noticed that the top shaft was out of sync with the bottom. Was able to put it back in it's correct position and its now back on the car.

This is why I love these forums. Wouldn't have thought of removing it if it weren't for the video Tony posted! :thumbsup:
