GazHyde Progress #2 restarted January 2013

I don't think that wrapping them will stop stone chips.

Was considering getting my bonnet wrapped to protect from stones.

I've been speaking to a few professionals, and they advise that wrapping won't prevent stonechips.

Only proper paint protection film will do the job.

Mark is that the 3M product? i have been offered that on my upcoming respray on the bonnet and arch areas

No it's the paintshield one!

Have looked into both and the paintshield gets the best reviews with a comprehensive 4 year warranty.

Self healing film.

More expensive but considerably better.

I've been to see them in Peterborough.

Very good setup.

Be aware that nobody produces film big enough to cover the whole bonnet.

It's done in sections.

Also paint will have to harden for a period before it can be applied.

Gaz did all this, and now it's gone to the scrap yard in the sky!

Starting the thread again, as I'm now starting on the journey to a different look!

26/01/2013 - Refurbished alloys fitted. Worked carried out at http://www.platinumwheelrefurb.com/ to a fantastic standard. The colour is from the Range Rover alloy colour range (doesn't have a specific name the colour).

New tyres fitted all round - Maxxis MA-Z1 directional.

Wheels look nice. Wasn't here long enough to have seen them when you first started. You seem very happy with them. Frankie

Good times reading through that thread again Mark.

I love the wheels, and they are rare too. Got to look after them because I'm not likely to find even a single replacement rim if I damage them...
