Starting the thread again, as I'm now starting on the journey to a different look!

26/01/2013 - Refurbished alloys fitted. Worked carried out at http://www.platinumwheelrefurb.com/ to a fantastic standard. The colour is from the Range Rover alloy colour range (doesn't have a specific name the colour).

New tyres fitted all round - Maxxis MA-Z1 directional.

Looking good Gaz I saw the close up pics of the wheels and they did look a super finish. What's the direction that your going Gaz? Are you still looking at different seats etc?

I'm going with a silver/black contrast. Won some black gills off eBay, and will change the side markers and repeaters for black. Need to get some tinting film for the rear lights.

Will be lowering the suspension, fitting another induction kit and a remap. Interior will just be the M seats fitted again.

This is all assuming next months MOT goes well??!?!?!?

Lookin good Gaz .keeep us posted on the tyre review.be carefull lowering to much i lowered mine 40mm wacked the floor a few times,ended up raisin it 20mm .:grin:

Won a bargain set of black side gills off eBay, continue the black/silver theme... Now looking for some side repeaters and bumper lights in black.

Have you thought about black/white or carbon fibre badges for the bonnet etc? They would look good if your going down the black silver theme. Them wheels have come out great and will look even better when its lowered a little. Keep the updates coming B-)

I would suggest drop of 30mm. Looked spot on my 2.8.

What should have been an easy quick switch of the standard seats for the Coupe seats, was a bit of a pain.

First job was to change the seat bushes on the Coupe seats, but I've lost them and can't find them

Press on without them I think, so remove the standard seats. Quick hoover out of the junk (only found £1 under mine).

Check wiring as air bag light is on to find that the foam insulation under the carpet is dripping wet (but carpet dry!).

Press on and worry about the wet later when the weather is better.

Seats connected to power, etc and before bolting in, reset the air bag light - SUCCESS!

Bolt in passenger seat - SUCCESS!

Bolt in drivers seat - FAIL! Bloody bolts have cross threaded at the rear fixings!

Car now at local garage so they can sort the cross threads out!

That back bolt was a pain in the ar#e when I fitted my seats too X( a quick trip to the father inlaws for a suitable die and all was sorted although I'm a bit reluctant to remove mine to fit the new seat bushes.

Seen quite a few Zeds with tinted rear lights, and I think it looks great on a Silver Zed. Initially thought of Laminex but was worried it may be too dark, and then remembered Fly Eyes. Worked out £8 delivered for enough to do the rear lights, so cheap enough to peel off and bin. It's MOT legal as well, so no problems with the boys in blue!

It's an OK alternative to proper tint film, and looks better from a distance. I think I will most likely end up taking them to a body shop and getting them properly smoked though or try the Laminex next.
