Forty shades of Grey

No I liked this one because of the faces of the Chinese people, especially when the girls are screaming, they just did not get it, I bet they thought, stupid western ladies of ill repute...

I think also Tony that there is a fundamental problem with rattle cans, in that the paint in them becomes electrically charged as it leaves the can and attracts any dust that is in the air. Probably fibres from your clothes. This is a problem that has plagued DIY'ers for years, The clothes we wear are made from manmade materials that statically charge as we wear them, that static is transferred to the rattle can when we shake it. Next time you spray something using them, try earthing the item with a piece of wire.

Mike
That makes an awful lot of sense.
Am used to handling sensitive electronics where we wear an antistatic strap to help cut down on unwanted static charges. I suppose the same would work here too.

So, an update on last Saturday's shenanagins, I had to try it on the car, with a couple of bits of masking tape to hold it down just to see how it's going to look, and hope that the breeze would be kind.

Then it was into the garage for a final wet flat and last couple of coats of clear coat. Baking away on top of the units in the back bedroom again till fitting day rolls round.
I also got the last one of my 108's tidied up on the inside before these also go on. I think I may add a couple of coats of clear onto these first though.

All I have to do now is remember where I put the new centre caps I got for them.

Tony.

ps. I've also ordered some nice paint for my callipers, bright Orange or Lime Green, which do you think?

A lengthy application of blood, sweat and tears is all it takes Steve.=)) They do look better though I have to say. I can't wait till I can afford a proper re furb on them, hopefully my next year's Christmas present.

Tony.

Tony is it a case of wet and dry and elbow grease
That's the last bit Steve depending on how bad they are to start with. Mine had the laqueur peeling so needed scraping with a wide blade scraper, then some 80 grit production paper, followed by 40 grit then the fine stuff. By the way (purists please cover your ears) I have only brush painted them.;)

Tony.

Nice job Tony, looking good.

Going to be big changes in a couple of weeks Bryan! :)

Tony.

T**t !!=)) Got one of those old fashioned things Mark.;)

Tony.

Com-on Tony, get the No More Nails out and get it stuck on. The mock up looks good, just two more coats of lacquer to go. Can't wait to see it with the wheels on.

Mike

It's all coming together now, a few little jobs this afternoon including a tidy up in the garage (well over due).
I fitted some LED bulbs in the foot well lights, I've had these for ages but just hadn't found the time to fit them. Done now.

Much better effect in the dark.

Still haven't found any alloy pedals like I have in the Z3 yet.

A tin of calliper paint, by this time next week they will be done in all their glory !
I got some clear coat on the insides of my wheels to help make it easier to keep them clean, I hope!

Crikey you have been a busy boy again .
