Very very nice, looks really clean and fresh! Did you have to mask the areas to get the two colours?
I masked for the inner colour but not the outer i did that with a fine brush and sponge was concerned that masking it too soon would cause issues.
It just needed a stead hand !!

Fantastic result Ant, you should be very proud of that mate. Well done.

Tony.

ps. What colour are you doing Grumps, I think he'd look good green. Is he having his car done too!=))
Green! Well plan is to use the remainder of Ants stuff so I guess the same as his. I think it looks great, really given it a lift.

That looks lovely.
I had beige (non sport seats) but with black dash and door plastics originally. Would have liked beige sport seats but grabbed the black ones I have now.
The two tone breaks it up nicely.

Question: did you apply the dye/paint to the plastic parts of the door card too (the darker bit like the handle, armrest etc)?

No have only dye'd the insert of the door card the rest is the standard colour the car came in.
You can dye it i believe but in my case only needed the centres to tie it together.

Making a zed your own is part of the fun in owning one.
You're absolutely right there Ant, even if you want to keep it bog standard you can still make it "yours".:)

When you think of all the zeds out there and the differences in them all ,the possibilities of making them individual are endless, its what makes it a great little car.
Bmw gave them such a range of specs with the after market mods to boot you can mod till your hearts content

You'd be surprised how easy it is mate sometimes you have to grab the bull by the horns and give it ago.
I had to have a go as they were ok but not as good as my standard seats condition wise, having had a go with the armrest and gaiters before trying this i was pretty sure it was easy enough to do the hard bit was wanting two colours but its only time and patience it wipes off when wet and redyes its quite forgiving its like kindergarten sponge painting only you need to keep in the lines =))

WOW!!!!!!!! Do I like that interior now!!, who says beige is not the right colour. When it's done like this it transforms the Z, with that already lovely looking exterior I'm completely sold on your Z3 Ant. You should be proud.

Fantastic results Ant.
My car seats are beige at present with some nice black mildew spots and red dye from a plastic bag, I was thinking I may only be able to go Black, but looking at the results you have achieved and the cost not being ridiculous I am now very tempted to try getting them back to the original colour again, If it doesn't work out then I will just have to go darker but in a 2 tone design maybe.

Im sure you can go dark to light i have dyed the gear stick gaiter from black to the light beige its cover just takes a little work.
A good clean of the leather and im sure you can get the dark bits covered my passenger seat was marked quite bad as you see here..IMG_6276.jpg
Some of it cleaned and the rest dyed no issues

Thank you for the picture, its mainly the passenger seat that is marked, its worse than your seat, but it definitely gives me hope in getting it back to a reasonable standard of Leather Camel in BMW colour terms. ( Leder Cameleon -BMW Upholstery code)
I dont want to go dark if i can help it.
