Oh dear, poor Bernie...

Formula 1 boss Ecclestone indicted on bribery charge

German prosecutors have indicted Formula 1 boss Bernie Ecclestone on a bribery charge.

The charge relates to a $44m (£29m) payment to a German banker, Gerhard Gribkowsky of Bayern Landesbank. It was linked to the sale of a stake in F1.

Mr Ecclestone said he had paid Mr Gribkowsky to avoid a UK tax inquiry into the sale of Formula 1 in 2006, but denied the payments were bribes.

Kimi Räikkönen, Lotus Renault, Formule 1 Grand Prix van Hongarije 2013, Formule 1

One bit of interesting news that came out of the paddock on Thursday was the clampdown on pit stops. Formula 1 teams will be given a 10-place grid penalty if they send a car out of the pits with a loose wheel.

The new rule has been implemented after a cameraman was injured in an incident at the German Grand Prix this month and will apply to all practice sessions as well as qualifying and races.

If such an incident happens in practice or qualifying, a grid penalty will be applied at that race. If it occurs during a race, the penalty will be applied at the following grand prix.

Fans: Bring back the turbo engines!
F1 brings back turbo engines
Fans: Turbo engines suck!
Fans in 2006: The V8s suck!
Fans in 2013: The V8s are awesome!
One thing about Formula One will never change, its fans will never stop moaning and there will be at least one person saying "RIP Formula One".
Stop crying.

Right, lets get back on track..........My favorite race, Spa Francorchamps.

In Summary
  • Hamilton on pole, Vettel 2nd
  • Di Resta 5th, Button 6th
  • Van der Garde & Marussias make Q2
  • Michelin could be 2014 tyre supplier
Reporting by Lawrence Barretto, BBC Sport.

Well, he is on pole with his Merc, tomorrow should be interesting.........

  1. What an extraordinary finish to qualifying, eh? First Paul Di Resta looked like he'd grabbed pole, then Nico Rosberg looked to have taken it. The Red Bulls threw everything at it but Lewis Hamilton snatched it at the death. Here's Andrew Benson's qualifying report with quotes from the main protagonists.

Damit, Raikkonen out...This has been a bad season for me so far......:(

BBC : Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel may well have extended his lead in the drivers' standings to 46 points - the equivalent of nearly two race wins - but second-placed Ferrari's Fernando Alonso showed that he and Ferrari are still very much up for the fight. You can't discount Lewis Hamilton or Kimi Raikkonen so don't give up hope of a thrilling title run-in just yet.

So do join me next time out for Monza, Ferrari's homeland, for the next chapter of this year's championship. Until then, it's good afternoon from me. See ya.

I would like to see the lad drive a Caterham, probably cry in his helmet for the whole race.
Look at what Raikkonen has don with a Lotus. True racing driver.........:beer
