If you look on the lock on the siren it will have a number. I believe that this number should match to that on the key and that would be the key to use.Hi guys
Interested in this thread as, like 137699, I want to know that my siren works and is disabled rather than sitting there possibly out of control!!
My situation is that it doesn't sound at the moment even though I have turned my key clockwise as shown in this thread to make sure it is switched on.
I found that, when inspecting the alarm module behind the glovebox last week, I found that there were only 2 single wires running from the back of it and these appeared to go to the two motion sensors on the windscreen. I suspect there might be a third wire that should run to the siren and, if this is so, then it is not currently connected and that would explain the lack of siren activity when I switch the alarm on and test it by moving in the car. I plan to revisit the module shortly and see if I can find the missing wire so, if anyone can shed any light on the wiring between the siren and the alarm module , I would really like to know please.
The other reason for this post is regarding the entries above regarding the siren key. I have two and looked at them this evening carefully. They appear to be identical (or perhaps almost identical) and both seem to turn the alarm setting off and on after a little fiddling but, inside one of them is the number 1 and inside the other is the number 2. Can anyone enlighten me on that? Are they keys 1 and 2 for the car and the same or are they slightly different and maybe only both work because one is a little worn? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Have attached 2 photos which may help.
My lock has the number two on it. I couldn't find anyone with a key to be able to test this out.
What I did in the end was found someone on the group that was breaking a Z3 and had the same siren where the lock was in the On position already. When I put that siren in the car then my alarm made noise. I then put the other siren back in as I now know that it all works but I didn't want the siren going off in the middle of the night.
