I now have my BMW alarm working, apart from the siren. There is a key on the siren to enable you to turn it off. Mine is in the Off position and I have no key. Does anyone happen to have a key for the siren? The number under the rubber cover is 2 so I presume I need a key with a 2 on it. I know the keys were numbered 1 to 9 (at least).

I would try using a straw from McDonalds but that would mean having to visit a MaccyD (which I try to avoid). Not sure if their straws are now paper as that seems to be the way things are going now. I tried looking at pens but I don't have any that would fit. Any other suggestions?

This is interesting as the siren has not worked on my car as long as I've owned it. When the "alarm" goes off, the hazards flash but the car is silent.
Could someone point me in the direction of where the siren & the keyswitch lives?

Under the bonnet righthand side on my 1.9 but why do you want it working ? It’s a pain

Oh believe you/me - I don't want it working again! Would just be nice to know that it *does* work and is disabled, rather than it doesn't work and might spring back into life unexpectedly....!

Hmmm.... had a look in the engine bay - cannot locate it...
This is it on pre-facelift - don't know if they moved them later. Right side of engine - under fuse box.2B9E73ED-8E36-4921-9ADE-A85CD60207EB.jpeg

@Richardrix Hi I’ve tried quite a few places on my travels and so far no one is able to cut it. They say it’s such a small cylinder and all tried the dealer which they won’t have. I’ll still try a few more avenues before giving up.
Abit of a long shot the key in this ad appears the same if you contacted the seller to see what the number of the key is https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/173885977069

Hi guys
Interested in this thread as, like 137699, I want to know that my siren works and is disabled rather than sitting there possibly out of control!!
My situation is that it doesn't sound at the moment even though I have turned my key clockwise as shown in this thread to make sure it is switched on.
I found that, when inspecting the alarm module behind the glovebox last week, I found that there were only 2 single wires running from the back of it and these appeared to go to the two motion sensors on the windscreen. I suspect there might be a third wire that should run to the siren and, if this is so, then it is not currently connected and that would explain the lack of siren activity when I switch the alarm on and test it by moving in the car. I plan to revisit the module shortly and see if I can find the missing wire so, if anyone can shed any light on the wiring between the siren and the alarm module , I would really like to know please.
The other reason for this post is regarding the entries above regarding the siren key. I have two and looked at them this evening carefully. They appear to be identical (or perhaps almost identical) and both seem to turn the alarm setting off and on after a little fiddling but, inside one of them is the number 1 and inside the other is the number 2. Can anyone enlighten me on that? Are they keys 1 and 2 for the car and the same or are they slightly different and maybe only both work because one is a little worn? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Have attached 2 photos which may help.

@Richardrix , hi mate I think you could turn that switch with a pair of small circlip pliers maybe. Alsi I have a pair of needle nosed pliers which would likely also work. I'm guessing it's only the inner part which turns?

Tony.
