Euro 2016 Cruise Cancelled

I have just attached the date to the opening post. Have decided to go for the 3rd of September to the 17th September

I have been looking at a Euro Cruise for next year and keep playing with ideas. At the moment this is my favourite route going out. The return i still have to look at.
I will be looking at how many nights to stay in different locations but so far i have
1 night in Trier on the Mosel
1 night Koblenz
2 nights Munich to enable a visit to the BMW Museum.
The rest is still to be arranged

Hugh i have been looking at a way to try and incorporate it into the trip, but think it would be best on a week day.

I have looked at this and can fit the Nurburgring in on the Monday. So the route out would be Saturday Trier, Sunday up the Mosel to Koblenz,
Monday Nurburgring and then Tuesday/Wednesday in Munich with maybe a stay over in between before heading over to Austria and Slovenia
Looks like the price for 1hr on the Nurburgring is 100 euro

I will play around with routes a lot more and will post an official Thread up around January for anyone who wants to tag along. But if anyone has ideas of places to visit or some good roads to travel in Austria on the way to Slovenia that would be appreciated

I am also looking at doing the grossglockner high road enroute to Slovenia. This is supposed to be an amazing road. ( it should be for 34 euro)

I am thinking of around a 3 to 4 day stay in Slovenia for days out and generally chilling by the sea

This sounds an amazing trip, I'm starting to get a hot flush!without @Shelly bringing it on ;)

Sounding fantastic this Bill. All the places we'd love to see. Just hope that money will allow it. We're in dubai in march so may well be a struggle to do both but leave me on the definate maybe list for now. Munich is high up on my bucket list so will do all I can to be able to attend. Austria is also somewhere I'd love to visit.

You would really need to drive into Croatia for the best coast line. there are some good spots in Slovenia but a lot more in Croatia.

Hi Billz, you asked if anyone had any suggestions and I thought of the time we left you and Moz last time.
I drove and stayed near Lake Konstanz, gorgeous area for a night or two if it suits your route?

Hello,
did you fix the date now?
We´re members of German Z3 roadster Club, living near Cologne and 45 Minutes from "The Ring"! It would be great to organize a meeting with you and members of the Club while you spending your time in our home area, somewhere on your route between Cologne and Trier (Rhineland;Mosel Area). Do you need any support? Let us know your plans and we´ll see!

Regards,
Ludger

Guys, I missed this thread because of the Euro 2016! almost the same words...and I skipped it! Sorry!
On my way to Slaenaken I planned to see Munich, The Romantic Road and the Castles on the Valley of the Rhein. I'm preparing now the schedule for this part.
Coming back to your map in September, I would say that in Croatia you should not miss the Plitvice natural park because it will take you for a walk of 4 hours in a Avatar movie landscape! And take the longest tour without fear, it's doable!
The motorways in Slovenia are fantastic: brand new, no traffic, alternating tunnels& viaducts!
And you should visit Postojna Jama (cave), in Slovenia!
Maybe it's too South for your plan , but the Croatian coast is breathtaking: the coast road or the cities, hard to say which one is on the first place!

Have driven most of your route as far as going well into Austria. The roads back then were fantastic, the sights amazing, the beer fantastic as are the people. I'm so envious! JIM
