@t-tony you can open the battery assembly, identify the cells and get new ones of ebay. Pretty simple DIY, you only need to repack cells and solder tabs of new cells in correct order. You also can upgrade to ni-mh cells, they are less prone to memory effect.
I didn't know that could be done and that the cells are available on eBay. I have a pile of drills from over the years that the replacement batteries cost more than a new upgraded drill. Is it difficult because there are a couple I really liked?? Thanks, JIM

Not difficult at all, and plenty guides on youtube. The only thing is that modern li-ion are so bloody better so i've scrapped all ni-cd and ni-mh tools. Upgrade to li-ion much more complicated and expensive, it is easier to get just new tool.

I don't always find that lighter is better @Althulas especially in sanding and polishing tools. Drills for small repetitive jobs yes but lighter usually means a lot of plastic parts to wear down and break. Most tools today are disposable so longevity isn't a consideration in most cases, JMO JIM

These things are amazing. I did have the use of a friends Snap-on windy gun but he is no longer in the area. Well worth fixing if you can repair those battery's,.

Best tool I've bought Lee, battery still coping I'm just prepping for the future. What I really want is a spare one so that I don't need to stop working when it goes flat. Got to look into all the sites that folks have kindly sent me.

Tony.

I have two 14.4v gun with 1350 lbs of torque and four batteries @t-tony so flat batteries are a thing of the past now. I use them for just about anything!! Great for rusted on lugs!!
