Eddie's slow progress thread

A couple more hours on Eddie today. Wynns engine flush added prior to oil (Triple QX) and filter change. Wynns valve lifter treatment added post change. Service Indicator reset using the how to guide on this wonderful forum. Now have a full set of greens!

That's what Sally says! Going to Meadowhell tomorrow to make amends for all the time spent in the garage. Back to work on Monday Tony.

Yes car is running well, itching to get out so may have to tax it earlier than expected!

An hour or so in the Zed shed today. New front drop links fitted, Meyle HD £20 from EBay. As you can see they were ready for changing. Car hasn't been run for a while, so new Ctek charger required + cigarette lighter connector £66 from Amazon. A couple of hours later and all is good.

Grabbed a couple of hours in the garage this afternoon. Decided that I needed to ramp up activities in preparation for April 1st when Eddie will be taxed and MOT time later in the month.
Put the second coat of satin black Rustoleom on the space saver and the exposed bits under the engine bay.

Then followed up with a coat of underseal on about 70% of the floor pan that I could reach from the front and sides.

Then with all four wheels on Terra firma I had time to whip these out and put in some new ones that I picked up for £20 on EBay.

Next on the list is to raise the back end to have a good look at the bushes, complete the undersealing and check the braking system.

You've been a busy boy Bryan .
That must of been a mucky job undersealing especially while having to crawl round on your back, good on ya .
The spark plugs were a bargain mate, were they from an on line shop ?.
I'll change mine when I replace the rocker cover gasket.
Good to see it's not just me outside freezing my spuds off toiling away ;).

Not the easiest of jobs to do Steve but worth it for peace of mind. Surprisingly there is quite a small area to do as a lot of areas are covered with heat shields, sound proofing and plastic trim.
The plugs were from a guy who had bought the wrong ones by mistake. He had them up for £25 + p&p but he accepted £20.
I think he had another set for sale, I will PM you if he still has them.

After a couple of hours of pruning and tidying the garden the lure of the garage and the Zed overcame me this afternoon. So up came the rear end onto stands and the first thing to grab my attention was a job that I wasn't intending to do. Here is a pic of the job half done.

And when finished

Next the wheels came off, one needed a little persuasion with a large lump of timber, you can see why below.

Out came the Autosol again for a hint of things to come.

Unfortunately I didn't have time to do anymore, but I have a feeling that the wheels are going to look great when finished.

Oooo shiny exhaust tips
Blimey what happened to the inside of that wheel? I've never had to use force to remove any wheels .
They'll look mighty fine when you've got round them with the autosol  .
I spent the afternoon cleaning my van......long overdue........even did the engine bay.......

I have a feeling that the rears haven't been off for a long time! Luckily the brakes and back-plates look OK.

Van looks good Steve, but I hope you haven't neglected the Zed!
