Easy to use bodywork sealant

So I've got a DA polisher on the way (thanks to @Antm72 for the advice).

I like the idea of the VSS Scratch and Swirl remover one step polish:

So I want to get that. But after that I need to seal the paint work of course. So what should I use on my Montreal blue paint - it's a colour responds well to some polishing - it's a dark blue but has purplish hue and can pop nicely if done right.

The thing is I don't have a garage and time is always tight so simple and easy to products are what I need that are safe in the hands of home car cleaner (who lacks the essential ingredients of time, patience and a dust free garage with lighting!).

Things like then GTechnique C1 and Exo look a bit 'pro' for me in that if you misapply it's lots of work to rectify (and expensive). Or is it actually simpler than it looks?

Any advice appreciated, it's a real myriad of products out there!

Sounds like you got the same as me after following Ant's lead,a king barny d.a ?.
I got some Collinite wax again advised by Ant on this. Used it on my wheels yesterday and it supposed to last up to a year once applied. Washed the car today and water really beads off the wheels.

Just looked that Collinite up and see there is a liquid version 845. Easier to use but less durable by about 3mths but can be topped up very easily.
Sounds a dream really!

I didn't know that Dino,the wax is really easy to apply and buff off. It's like boot polish in consistency but you need warmish weather ideally when you use it. I'll use it on the bodywork as well when I get a combo of time and weather to get it done.

Followed by a wax that you like (poorboys natty blue wax is great)

Easy to use and great results

Used this combo on my helios blue golf for years.

Can I ask which DA Ant has suggested Dino? I have had the discussion with him but forgot! I'm having pennies for Xmas to get one and hopefully a power washer too. :)

Its the King Barney Dave. But bin the kit that comes with it as the cutting pads are too harsh but the polishing pad is ok. I would suggest getting smaller pads as it is easier to work small areas at a time and the 6" are just too big. Most of this was on Russell Os recommendations
 
In fact i only use the polishing pad to put the wax on, i have it ripped up into 2" sections to do this
 
If we can find a suitable weekend day when i get back off my jollys i dont mind popping round to show you
 
The only pads i had found really good in the kit where the waffle pads (black) as said the others are quite firm.
Mine came with a 4" and 6" backing pad and have only used the smaller of the two.
As said for finer work a smaller disc can be used for precision and ease.
 
I will bring my kit looks quite professional its just a pity i am not =))
 
The pads that come with it are harsher than the 3m cutting pad. I think using these with cutting compound could seriously damage the paint even with a DA Machine

Try the 3m compounds and pads as they are colour coded Green top compound use with green pad, yellow top fine compound use with yellow pad and blue top ultrafina polish use with blue pad. Could not be easier

Just work out what colours you see for green yellow blue and bobs your uncle, or dave or neil or someone =))
 
Good tips guys.

I want too keep it simple so am thinking :
Get will get the 3m 4inch pads and just use the VSS scratch and swirl to a good finish.
(I have clay mitts too and detail spray).

I like the Collinite 845, super easy to apply, not expensive and easy to top up to prolong protection.

But before applying the Collinite that I think I should apply something to help the colour pop more. I already have Autoglym Super Resin polish so could I use that for this purpose?

So can I do this:
Clay
VSS Scracth and swirl
Autoglym SRP
Collinite 845
Job done (and top up the 845 from time to time until next year!)

That should get it looking great and well sealed. You could also try Autoglym Extra Gloss Protection instead of Collinite, its very easy to use and has good durabilty. I've tried this and Collinite 476 and the Autoglym is much easier to apply and remove and a lot faster, but as the 845 is a liquid it will most likely be similar.
