The car looks great - would be good to see the finished job?

Unfortunately he will be taking it once the bonnet is painted and fitted, I can pop to his place and get some pics when its done though.

My neighbour down the road has a yellow one - he was offered £100k from a guy in Dublin - he turned him down. This guy has had the car for years - 20,000 genuine miles on the clock - it's a stunning motor!

Stag's were a nightmare 30 years ago and they won't have got any better :(

Tony.
The Stag is coming along, all body work is done and new interior, manual conversion has been done, we had to make a short remote for gear change, engine has been fully rebuilt with high compression pistons and fast road cam, we got it in over Xmas,
Look at the size of that carb

That's not a carb. that's a bucket. My brother in law used to have a Jenson Interceptor years ago and it had a 4 barrel Holly carb. IIRC.

I remember the Holly's well mate, the carb and manifold cost £800 , we recon the engine should be good for around 230 bhp, could have pushed it but he only wants to pootle about in it

Amazing, this would be my dream job and some day I ask myself if it's not the case I start chasing my dreams.
@Sean d : how hard is it to restore these beauties on a scale from 1 to 10?

For a skilled body tech with years under his belt its just all in a days work, however it takes many years to get to that level, for a novice it would impossible to restore a vehicle to a good standard.

Meant to ask, what does this mean?
Its the part that joins the gear stick to the box so you can select the gears, the original rover remote is a lot longer thus pushing the gear stick back about 6 inches from the centre of the hole in the gearbox tunnel.

I have a pair of Edlebrock Thunder 650's to go on my tunnel ram for my 462 cu in BBC which will be going into my 57 Chevy 2dr sedan. Should be close to 600HP. Or I have two 3-71 GM supercharger to go on with unknown HP. Much too heavy for a Zed though I'm afraid. JIM
