I know it was an Alfa as I had the year before they went to that design. It was a great car. Alfa, so I was told, came up with the dual overhead cam engine in 1924 and could never improve on it as it was so good. Don't know if that's true but it was told to me by the head mechanic at a Ferrari dealership.........................FrankieWe saw this in the car park of Queen Alexandra hospital this morning whilst on one of my many visits. I didn't know what it was until I took a closer look. Do you know what it is? View attachment 52382
The Italians have always been great mechanics but it's a pity that they've always been lousy electricians. They've made some lovely cars and motorcycles over the years. I think Ducati still use desmodronic valves on their motor cycles. Stripping an old Duke is like taking a watch to pieces.I know it was an Alfa as I had the year before they went to that design.
