Meet CrissZelda my first lil z3 I've had her a year now and I think it's time to give her some real TLC. There's alot off work to be done and I plan to document my progress so if anyone's interested watch this space. I've taken some pics as she stands now with a list off what needs attention. Please feel free to comment as this is my first project and any and all help is appreciated. Plan is to start with cosmetic learn what I can from the forum then hopefully upgrade the mechanical stuff [emoji16].

Welcome aboard, looks like you got the usual faults! Door mirror will more than likely be corroded on the inside and will snap if you try to fold it in. Drivers seat not working could well be that the gears have failed. All part of owning one of these brilliant little cars! Good luck with your mission, may see you on some meets.:)

Good luck with your repairs.

I have practically the identical wear on the red trim of my steering wheel (same colour and everything). Does anyone know if this bit of trim can be removed without going down the battery disconnect and airbag out road? Was thinking of just going plasti-dip black on it as no idea where I would get matching paint for this colour.

Hi all, just a quick update for any interested. Got myself a donner car this weekend with a hard top whoop whoop
My first job is to change the wing mirror that does not work and replace one of the door cards while am in there. I was thinking of doing the wing mirrors interior red and keep the fun vibe. I covered in red tape just to get a idea of what it will look like. Thoughts anyone?

My view on wing mirrors - keep colour as bodywork, as for rims, stepped dish silver or chrome, watch the offsets, and for a great stance it might be worth considering, bringing the rims out to the arches and lowering the car. There are consequences though re: rear camber will show more with excessive rear tyre wear. I have mine done but annual mileage is around 2000, so wear and camber not excessive in the medium term. Hope this helps.

And if you do go with wider stance and lowering remember to have the tyres turned on the rims before they're past it !! ;)

Tony.

Am a lil way off from messing with suspension yet or should I say suspension deep dish money, but Crimbo is just around the corner, but for now I think am going to take the wheels off the silver donner.

So this weekend fort I would make a start on sorting that wing mirror out.
Thanks to a few Wright ups one here pulling it all apart was quite easy. Still waiting for it to dry but hears the cards since they had to come off I cleaned them up and resprayed the speaker grill.

So today I swapped the hardtop kit from 1 one to the other all went fairly easy apart from the passenger side but I got there. Still have in trouble with the seat tho. I want to swap the seats as the leather in mine is creased and donner looks in better condition, but all the connections are different apart from the power. I don't want to cut any wire coz I jus don't feel confident doing that. Is there a way I can keep the frame and just swap the seat itself or is that a even bigger job if possible. If there's any directions anywhere .
Or even better if there's anyone near Leeds that know what there doing add be will to compensate

Why not just swap the covers off the good set onto the bad set? Not too hard to accomplish if you take your time and also give you a chance to replace any broken guides for belts at the same time if necessary! JIM

Door mirrors fold! Well you learn something new everyday.

really need a bonnet and the front wings but all have to be rust / dent free with great paint, would you be willing to sell those (condition pending?)
