Cleaning Alloy Wheels

You may struggle on the refurb as the Stainless inners are pressed on. You may have to take it to a specialist refurber who can handle these sort of wheels as i took mine to a few just to have curbing marks removed and they all said they would not do a full refurb unless spraying the rim as well which then makes the wheels look s--t as i had this done to a set of Cades Tyres Deep Dish

The dishes on mine are aluminium (single piece) and when I had them redone I had the lips diamond cut but not lacquered. It's more effort now to keep smart and don't use them in the winter but I love the look and can control the shine - lacquer on the dishes, especially the rear seems to get broken by the stones get collected in the dish at speed.

Not sure if the same can be done with stainless, i.e. Leave it unlacqered and polish from time to time - should be easier care than aluminium which oxidizes immediately.

I liked this, just ordered some Dragons Breath, Meguiars tyre gel and poor boys sealant on the recommendation :thumbsup:

Used the Dragons Breath cleans brilliantly, also the sealant definitely keeps the brake dust off for longer and its easier to wash.

There's a huge improvement anyway so I think you should be pretty happy with efforts so far!
I agree and swear by meguires endurance tyre gel, 2 weeks worth per application

I bought some Meguires in Florida and it's ok but not as nice as my previous which was Turtle Wax Extreme nano-tech tyre gel. This stuff is less shiny, dries, and doesn't come off on your hands and arms when you handle the wheels. Will be going back to that when this is used up.

Tony.
