Get one with USB output so that you can upload your vinyl.
Still have my turntable and it gets used occasionally. There's something special about listening to vinyl.

My brother has still got my old NAD I bought in the late 70's in his man cave to play his and some of the vinyl that I left behind.

The kit you buy these days would never last that long.

My brother has thousands of vinyls. He worked in the music industry for years as well as being in a rock band (which is he still in today at 47!) He's got loads of white labels and masses of rare stuff. Can't see him ever parting with any of it.

I assume that's what is know as reel to reel? To young for me to remember but just an educated guess.

Wish I had not given my large collection away..:(
Had the Uriah Heep album Salisbury, untouched, still packed in plastic, wounder what that would be worth now?

Get one with USB output so that you can upload your vinyl.
You could then plug it into a modern head unit and have vinyl in your car...

Yep, as close as you could get to the real thing @zedonist, with all the crackles, skips and jumps that will transport you back in time to the place where your only thoughts were about humping the girl next door...:D

Mines a NAD turntable and Amp. Bought in1985 from the proceeds of selling a mini. Guy in a Hifi shop told me a couple of years ago not to swap the amp - modern systems are nowhere near as good he said. It's got a noisy pot that needs dealing with though. Need better speakers though. Bookshelf Missions while good don't have the depth.

Get a set of three way Mordaunt Short's, this is David sleeping in my lounge when he came over to collect my hardtop.
Could have blown his head off...:D

I was always put off from 3-way speakers by my uni lecturer who designed speakers for several companies. Can't get the filter roll-off to match the speakers themselves. Something that has always stuck with me.
Used to do sound for groups and discos. 4 stacks at 6kW per stack. That could give you a shock. Might explain why I don't hear what Gail says
