Interesting topic spoke to Duncan a couple of weeks ago about this. My feeling ties in with the current prices that are so low for such a good car I feel the answer is just that .It is very well built and as such lasts for years meaning there are still a lot about thus keeping the prices down in turn the low value will restrict people repairing them so they get scrapped and fewer cars around and then the value will rise. I am not sure what is the best for all and its just a theory.

Part of the issue lies with the available places for repair i.e. Mainly large body repairers looking for insurance work only, I have been quoted anything from £50 a £250 per panel to get restored, ergo 4 panels on Gaz's car could have cost a grand, so then makes it a no brainer not to fix and sell.

Kind of a left side/right side "brainer" thing though. Can't remember which side of the brain is the logical one and which the emotional side...

Im amazed it's being broken!

It would have made a good project for someone.

Not only that, he's rubbing your nose in it gaz by selling the parts on here!

Sorry you feel that way Mark, but just to be clear, before I even offered Gary any money for the car I made it 100% clear that I would be taking it apart for spares if I bought it.

As others have already said, if no one broke cars for parts there would be no second hand parts. I'm sure plenty of people on this and other forums have, and will continue to, buy parts from cars that were perfectly road legal.

That'll be my last comment on the subject, I don't want to get into a slanging match about it.
