Interesting topic
Does everybody take out an extended warranty on all their goods
I for one do not, thats how they make there money
They must do study on how many products fail in the 1st year 2nd and so on
I would be surprised if it more than 5%
The insurers do really well out of our worry

I had an elderly client who had cover on her fridge
i checked her policy,£15 per year, she continued to pay it, for 25years +
I believe the fridge was about £80 new

Footnote
Not like the new policies new for old
sorry lady its broke "unrepairable", throw it away

I stopped the policy :D

Actually its the first time i`ve done this ,but as possible failure points i mentioned are so dammed extortionate, especially the steering box,i`ve heard £2000+ to repair this, coupled with the euro trip in june i though it wise on this occasion.
Next year i may trade it for a Z3 AGAIN, :D :D :D

I was looking to extend the warrany of my MINI Cooper as it came out of the 'cherished' scheme, but it renewed just at the time I got made redundant (sods law). That said, I'm not sure I could have parted with the £700 they wanted for the basic policy even if I was working!

It also transferred from MINI over to a third party company which I wasn't totally happy about. Seemed like it was going to add an extra layer of bureaucracy to any claim made.

It's only done 650 miles in the last four months, and half of that was one trip. If it wasn't for the fact the road tax is £20 per year, it would be sorn'd.

Having the ///M and the possible vanos problem gave me peace of mind plus I made sure I got my monies worth. Seat belt guides, seat bushes, you name it, if it wasn't 100% it was changed under warranty.
