Must admit I have to agree with you David the rubber strips are definitely missing as the channels should be almost flush.Your Z is looking good Jim - enjoy! Just an observation - is the beading missing from the hardtop roof?
David.
You never know a Tony, Sean has not been seen in the UK for a while, he could be calling himself Jim now, and whispering with bears.......You mean that's not really our Jim?
Good pics. You saved me a trip up there. Could that color be Boston Green? Frankie
I guess someone's just going to have to make a trip over the big pond to verify. You're not the Yeti, are you Jim? Beats the hell out of the Stig.
You hit it right on Frankie!Good pics. You saved me a trip up there. Could that color be Boston Green? Frankie
If only that was the first problem to solve!! Soft top, tires, change seat leather, get the bonnet to open and get grills replaced and nose fixed, etc, etc. but it runs strong and is rust free. The HT keeps the rain out for now will worry, not ,about it for now. JIMMust admit I have to agree with you David the rubber strips are definitely missing as the channels should be almost flush.
Sorry Jim but looks like we have found the first problem for you to solve however it does look like a very good example despite that.
Nope!! My friend is an upholsterer with about 50 yrs exp. and don't know if I'll be able to get there when he does the top and seats, but will try! I bought the HT off eBay for £250+£125 to deliver it to the PO. Bought the fitting kit for£99 plus shipping and the PO and his son installed it for the voyage across "the pond" as I stated in the Scottish thread with my mom's maiden name MacDonald it's the deal that allows this pensioner the luxury of enjoying the company of all of you on the forum. lol JIMnice Jim, car looks well, love the hardtop, looks like you have your work cut out to get the softop sorted, hope that goes well for you, now you can do a how to thread, with pics ;-)
The label says BMW and to be honest I prefer the smooth look of your's and my 58 190sl hardtop. But I'll work with what I got for now. It was bought as a driver because none of my other projects are ready for the road yet so drive it I shall might even try it out in the snow. Heater works fine, just have to get a switch and wiring for the back window. JIMI think the guys might be right about the hardtop Jim. If it is BMW and I think it is, looking at the back window, it should have the strips Aceman pointed out. The Weissman does not.
I'd like to hook it up even though I also use the mirrors but my wife may prefer to have it working. She's an excellent driver and is used to using the mirrors also, but just in case I'd better hook it up or you know what starts next!I would not worry about the heated rear window Jim. I have it on mine but never use it as I am used to driving using my wing mirrors and they defrost very quickly. Oh, and the car is great fun in the snow.
