I want to get my "summer" wheels refurbed before they go back on.....hopefully in the next few weeks.

I found the thread from 2013 with recommendations for a couple of possible places...Pristine and the Wheel Specialist but does anyone have any more recent experience of these...or anywhere else?

Hi Gail

I had the ones on our Z3 refurbed by this company, only thing is they have moved since I used them. Might be worth a call by and a chat.

http://www.wheels.uk.com

I also went here and were quite professional sounding but were busy when I wanted ours doing, also based in Coventry.

i did some work for a wheel company a few years back and used to take wheels to belmont metals near melton.two brothers simon and patrick.tyres off, acid dipped then fully referbed and tyres back on and balanced used to be around 240 plus vat.can recommend them.they used to do them for perfection alloys until they opened there own referb shop.

I used The Wheel Specialist (Nottingham but they're all over) for my wheels on the Jag. They took them from battered, curbed and three of them buckled, to straight, pristine in a custom colour finish.
They only use powder coat too so hard wearing, easier to clean and it fully "goes off" in the kiln so they're set from the day you pick them up. They if its just refurb and spray you want, they do a one day drive in/drive out service. I'd recommend them.

Mac those wheels are the business the Jaguar signature is just great.

I can only recommend Scott and the team @ Platinum Alloys in Swindon - responsible for all the refurbs/colour swaps for Ferrari Swindon and I've had 3 sets refurbed by them on previous cars, all without fault.

cheers

Chris

Good luck with you wheels @Gail :p

Thanks everyone, I will have a look at all the suggestions. It is debatable as to whether I should go for a full refurb or not. As the car is a daily driver the chances of them being damaged again are higher than if it was just a weekend car.

Powder coating all the way for me

From BVJ engineering (Luton area) for £200, wheels balanced and new tyres fitted. Powder coated to colour of my choice

Very happy.

I recognise that old banger from somewhere . . . . ;) It looked great!

Tony.

Oooh l do like that @Mac Romans looks really good... I may just have to give them a call.
I was thinking gun metal chrome for my zed,do you think they could do that in powder coat ?.

Steve.
Yes mate. They'd do a black base coat and then a light dusting of chrome. All powder coat.

Hi Gail.I have just had a couple of wheels on our touareg done by a local guy in our village broughton astley only 10 miles from nuneaton.he is only a guy working on his own but have tried quite a few around the Leicestershire area and have been very disappointed (maybe I to fussy).but this guy has been the best by a country mile.colour and finish.£50 per wheel.

Wow what a great result :p
I love them ;)

Don't understand why more people aren't using powdercoating on their wheels with the multiuse of colours now available and virtually indestructible! And the price is excellent. JIM

Thanks for the recommendation. They have gone to wheels.co.uk today and should be ready next weekend. We'll post some before and after pics.
