Archived Alps Pyrenees and Villa Euro Route 2015 Holiday

Will see if we have time to visit

That's a great sounding trip.

We are doing a driving tour this year too and actually staying at the same accommodation as you in Andorra. I will look forward to hearing what the place is like :)

We will keep you updated

This trip is looking even better. Cheap petrol and Euro dropping :D

When does your trip begin ?

We don't go until mid September.

We will be a mixture of cars in convoy and probably 8 or 9 cars in number

That should bw cool. Are you taking the zed

Yes, after doing a similar trip in 2011 in a hard top saloon, we are definitely taking the zed this time. We did Route 66 in 2014 and hired a soft top Camaro and the feeling of being able to see so much more is fantastic.:)

Recieved our Vignettes the other day

Drive down to Folkston 9th July return home on the 27th. Just need to book the Dartford toll.

If the price of the petrol will keep this descending trend, You will have also the opportunity to spend more on beer !:beer(or other refreshment)....
Already the price, in the continental Europe, is about 1eur/liter!:)
Time to driveeeeeeeeeeee...........

Yeah Jim, in the 80's everything was free. Now you have to pay each highway, or tunnel or bridge.:( And if you don't, they charge you with hundreds of euro, as penalty! I feel so good when I can choose on the navigation "no toll roads" and enjoy the landscape, like a biker!:)
Without the Big brother camera's to watch your moves........;)

Jim Its what you have to purchase to drive on motorways in switzerland. If you can prove you will not be driving on any Motorways then you dont need one. I always get one just to play safe even though i may not go on any, but if time is tight then it gives more options.

It also works out cheaper than toll roads. Vignette costs around £30 for 12 months you could not drive on motorways in france and spain for 12 months and only pay that

I recall now that as I went from Lichtenstein into Switzerland that we had to pay a fee there at the border. I guess this would speed things up considerably. Wish I was joining you, sounds like an awesome trip in areas I have fond memories of driving in the 80's. We took a day trip from the small town of Rettenberg in Bavaria over the Alps into Northern Italy on what my wife considered a goat trail.. As we were about to head back through a pass they closed it down due to fog and we were detoured back to the same road we'd gone over. Needless to say, Joan was not happy meeting up with tour buses on curves in the fog. I, personally loved the drive, lots of curves downshifts upshifts, etc. Wish you safe driving and good weather all the way, JIM
