Alpine White Eaton M62 Build

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

no worries mate, i was in the same boat! Hopefully i'll catch you at a show in the future

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

Daz,

Just a quick off topic question. My mate is looking at getting a compressor so he can do a bit of panel spraying on one of his cars. What spec is yours, so he has some idea what to keep an eye out for.

Also any hints on any other kit he's likely to need would be good.

Cheers, Gary

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

Hi Gaz you really want a compressor which will pump out about 14 CFM, mine has a 3 housepower motor and a 100 litre receiver tank. The bigger the tank the better as the harder you work the motor the more water is produced but if he's doing a panel at a time a smaller compressor may cope fine. You'll need a water trap/filter in line to take away any moisture. The spray gun I've been using is a clarke pro from machinemart (1.4mm needle) and it's a great gun now I've got the knack :p

Picture quality isn't great it was getting dark and my camera doesn't like it.
Can anyone recommend a place to get a new soft top I'd like one in a dark grey anthracite?
Thanks Daz

Awesome Daz B-)
Can't wait to see it in the flesh!!

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

Looking good! Loving the idea of an anthracite grey hood too!

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

Thanks I'm really happy with it so far I may get the exhaust started this weekend but got to do the brake pipes first before the bonnet can go on! Getting excited now I see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

that is going to be stunning......love them wheels.. :D

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

It was going to be stunning until I pulled the sheet back tonight only to find a big dent which someone has kindly put in the door I put on last night! Trying to find a dent removal specialist locally not something you expect on a freshly painted car if that don't work looks like I'll be spraying it again 8-|

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

thats crap mate X(

Daz is it the pic or does the rear wheel stick out of the arch?

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

How the hell did that happen? Looks like its parked on your drive?

I thought that too swamper?

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

Yeah it's got a bit of poke but the tyres stretch in might have to get 5mm skimmed off the spacers as the car will be sitting lower than in that pic. Still can't believe the dent I'm well cheesed off!

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

Hey hardtop yeah it's on the drive at my parents house tbh I think one of them has dropped one of the wheelie bins on it as they were in close vasinity. I didn't want to accuse them though so just said I'll get a PDR guy in to sort it they looked as gutted as me.

Re: My 2.8 Alpine White III Progress

Here's a pic of the dent I've got a PDR man coming tuesday to see if he can get it out.
