Hello All,

I have to agree with pretty much all of the comments. I also cannot think of anything that I would replace the Z with, thats probably why I went from a Z to a 911, then back to a Z again!

Only one alternative for me, and it's not that different to the Z, one of them pretty little Triumph GT6s. Same sound (almost) and much the same shape. If you squint a bit.
I replaced my GT6 with a Zed. no rust.:):):)

I'm currently looking for a Merc 500SL. Don't know what will happen when I find one for the money I want to pay though with regards to my Zed.
It will be tough to sell my old 230ce but that looks the most likely outcome.
Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!

I was in the same boat about 6 months ago. The main thing I was after in my next car was more feel. I wanted a raw experience and the TVR filled that gap perfectly. But in-between making the decision I must of looked at every sports car between the 15-20K mark.

Lotus - 6,1 I didn't get on with the space and lack of comforts
Porsche Cayman - Handling was incredible felt far to tame. The nicer spec was just out of my price range.
E46 M3 - Felt very boat like from the Zed but struggled to find a clean example.
Chimera - beautiful sounding Rover V8 Looked a little dated for me
Porsche 911 - Looked at high mileage 3.4s but didn't get a good feeling, felt a little under powered

In the end I settled for a TVR Cerbera 4.5 The styling was spot on and the driving is such a raw experience, it kicks and screams like a banshee under full load. Also no matter where you go people stop and ask questions and take photos.

@Grumpy Yeah I miss the practical element of just jumping in and off I went. The TVR needs a little more attention. This weekend I had to re align the two banks of 4 cylinders to each other, the flames got a little too big for the public behind. But as hard as this sounds it took me an hour tops with a laptop and some screwdrivers to adjust. :)

Know what you mean ref the photos Lee, it seems the local constabulary can't stop taking photos of me, even in my wife's 500x, never had this much interest in me when I had my moggy 1000 traveller. Oh well still got 3pts left.;)

Still can't see you in my mind without your Z Lee, does this mean we're not going to see you at any meets.Roy.
You don't get rid of me that easy. I'm lurking in the background only because I'm busy. We have new shocks to fit to the front of Gaz's zed tonight and I'm taking delivery of Duncans zed and hazels zed this sunday for the full chassis off treatment. I'm also in the process of setting up a unit with a ramp to work from. I'm almost at the point of starting a Z3 business.

Well that means you'll still get to drive Zs apart from yer dads and we can hopefully still get advice and hands on treatmen, so glad your not ditching us for the TVR owners club. Roy.

After seeing @Lee 's TVR a couple of weeks ago, I have been very tempted with a Tuscan Speed 6...

It's the retro style which attracted you, both and the virgin power train, isn't it? You are definitely oldtimer's nostalgics and the Zed fill this need perfectly.

It shouts British all over. Its loud and proud. British built engine designed from the ground up along with the styling too. These cars are nearing the 20 years old mark and look spot on still in styling.
