Damn. You will repair wont you? :(
I hope so. It is being taken to the body shop as I type.
I am fully comp (all risk) insured but I am worried about the bonnet as that looks like it has had it, plus it is obviously an old car, October 1996, so they could call time on it but I hope not.

Holy cow. One thing to knacker your own car, but someone elses :(

It's always bonnet damage that concerns me as they are bloody expensive if/when you can get hold of them. Hopefully it's worse than it looks on the rest of the car!

That's a bag of rats Mike. Hope he's a very good friend. Will the insurance write it off and let you buy it back from them as they do in the UK? Could you repair it yourself? Hope it works out well for you either way.

Sorry that this has happened. Boss is eating humble pie I should think. When ours was damaged I got the insurance to agree to put used parts on, I think the bonnets are just into 4 figure new from BM so worth persuing used parts bonnet, bumper etc

Hope it gets sorted for you.

What a terrible thing to happen. At least if you had been driving, you would have a satisfaction of wrecking some other persons car as well, but to let your boss do it for you, that's Loyalty.

Hope its repairable.

Mike

OUCH!! I though you couldn't see, what's his excuse? Gonna fix or look for a replacement? Hope you can keep it if they write it off. How does the Dutch insurance work? Our provincial insurance gives us the option but if it's too bad they make us do a body integrity inspection before they'll re insure it which costs about £500. What's Frankie gonna drive now, a fiat 500? JIM

Sorry to see this.
How is the cars internal structure? Has that been touched?
Like the front crossmember (think it is called like that)? As the bonnet catches are attached to that. Very likely it will have some damage too.
The "arsorbers" where the bumper is on. that will have taken a good blow too.
A lot of damage. I suppose the impact speed was not that high?
As the Z3 is low to the ground, the forces are more scooped up and going through towards the bonnet.
The bonnet is only a thin sheet of metal. And certainly on a big surface like the bonnet, it can't take much force.
The front light seems completely smashed too....and that does need a lot more force to get smashed like that.

Tell the insurance company it is a youngtimer....the word alone will increase the value (and therefore the possibility they don't scrap it)
