Absolutely, staggered around for a bit and then threw up in his van....on that note, Happy Christmas...
Gotta love Amsterdam! One of the few places where a water pipe is used for what it was invented without fear of being sent somewhere unpleasant for a very long time. We have Turkish "Sheesha" shops in Japan. They smoke a very mild type of tobacco that succeeds in giving me nothing more than a headache.

And according to the gospel saint wikipedia:

Boxing Day is traditionally the day following Christmas Day, when servants and tradesmen would receive gifts from their bosses[1] or employers, known as a "Christmas box". Today, Boxing Day is habitually known as the bank holiday that occurs on 26 December. It is observed in the United Kingdom, Canada, Hong Kong, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Malta and other Commonwealth nations. In Australia, Boxing Day is a federal public holiday.

In South Africa, Boxing Day was renamed to Day of Goodwill in 1994. In Ireland, the day is known as St. Stephen's Day (Irish: Lá Fhéile Stiofáin) or the Day of the Wren (Irish: Lá an Dreoilín). In many European countries, including notablyGermany, Poland, Scandinavia and the Netherlands, 26 December is celebrated as the Second Christmas Day.[2]

I like BMG's version though

And I meant to say uncle Fester but I got my names mixed up. You really looked great!!!! I thought this was the case but I was afraid to say it because if I was wrong it would have been the perfect time to have said the really wrong thing at the perfectly wrong time. There were times in my life when I really wanted to compliment someone and accidently ended up insulting them. oops!
Don't worry Frankie, BMG is always saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. Hard to upset everybody on this site at the same time. On a lighter note, is it Christmas there yet or do you have to wait another few hours?

In a few hours. Been busy all day baking. Made carrot cake starting with carrots I dug up from the garden that had grown last summer. Dig them up when I need them. Carrot cake is for dinner tonight. Traditional fish dinner, an Italian thing. For tomorrow I made Zuppe Inglese.(https://www.google.com/search?sourc...0l3.0.0.0.21581...........0.ApRsqLIWDJw&pbx=1)
My Italian grandmother used to make it her own special way and no one ever paid attention when she did it except me. I always loved helping her and I as a result, learned all her cooking secrets. Now when the families crave something that she used to make, no one can make exactly like her except me and they all beg me to cook different things. She had a great recipe for linguine and clams in white sauce that was to die for. I got to go now to Brigantine for dinner, about 20 minutes away, Merry Christmas to you and your family, Mike.

The Fens, (means Marshland) an area of flat land that runs from Lincolnshire, through Cambridgeshire & Norfolk, around the wash, it was renowned for being below sea level and constantly flooded until it was drained by Vermuynden, a Dutch Engineer at the end of the 17th Century.
Fen Tigers are Fenmen, renowned for their hard living and hard drinking!!!! and the Women are pretty awesome too!!!
Here is a picture taken just down the road last year.

Read 'Tales of the Fens'

Tried to Google Earth this area, and it seems like a very large area.

Yes, Frankie, it is a very large area, much of it devoid of trees. Having grown up in this environment, one of the places I frequent is Wissington, where the Farmers are constantly digging up bog oak buried millions of years ago, try Google Earthing that, it also has the largest sugar processing plant in the world.:)

As one of England's richest areas soil wise, The Fens are teaming with wildlife, we can often see on the landscape from our patio windows, several species of Deer, Fox, Rabbits, Hares and Squirrels, plus numerous birds including buzzards, sparrowhawks, kestrels and both green and greater spotted woodpeckers. With the exception of local village settlements that have evolved on the high ground from the 'dark ages, the landscape is so flat that we are blessed with some beautiful skies and landscape views that are a photographer's dream.:snaphappy:

Hope you had a relaxing Christmas Day and hope for a Happy Zedding New Year for you too!:coolsteer)
