Yep, it can kill a relationship being away from home to long.
Seen it happen far to many times in my job. I've never wanted to tramp, don't mind the odd night out but these guys that do the continental stuff are away 4-6 weeks at a time. I talk to a lot of Dutch who pull out of Farm Frites who make the fries for McDonalds in The Netherlands and they spend loads of time away shunting between there and the UK having to take weekend rest in laybys. That's no life.

Knew the owner of Falcongate transport Great Yarmouth, think he sold out to Grampian Continental.
He said even in the middle of nowhere, these guys would not stop if they passed each other, would just sound the horn.

been in the same situation heading back from devon in heavy traffic cleared bristol and the traffic started to get better moving at a steady pace then i said to the wife bar for a accident its plain sailing know, when just in front of us a caravan snaked hit a car on its side then flipped the car towing the van on its roof, i was the car that was behind the van, by time i stopped got hazards on stoped any more traffic from trying to get through, when some t**t waving his arms started running up the motorway shouting gas EXPLOSION run, that in its self caused total panic, well having towed a van myself in the past i guessed it was calor gas from the van, the two ladies that was in the upturned car had crawled out and was lying on the bank first job was to stop the gas, having tried to get into the locker when another guy started to hit the locks on the locker door with a hammer i dont need to tell you what i said to him, got the door open gas bottle disconnected, and removed, this a big no no always disconnect gas on the move, seen to the ladies they seemed to be just cuts and bruises real surprising given the state of the car cleared the motor way a few of us doing by now got a path round the accident got the car moving to let the response teem in jumped in my car got out of the way and never heard any more,

Well done Dave, Tony and Phil!
I believe that in front of a situation any action, even the smallest encouragement helps until the ambulance arrives.
Not being a very religious person, but still believe that a good action returns to you or to your family. So Dave, maybe the new job was a reward for your action after... Congrats for the job; I solidarise with you, while had have the same adventure (with the job)!

Great news about the job Dave and well done for being there when you were needed. It's amazing what we do when faced with an accident. I hope that both me and Dave would do the same.
