I think so just only 3 wires on the mini one compared to 9 on mine for the alarm circuit.

I suppose you could relocate them into the top panel but not sure if it would restict the ariel for the alarm being so close to the metal body. .....but a thought

i never noticed how large the oem mirror was until it fell of one hot summer day, i drove around for a couple of days without it till i got the chance to refit it, then i noticed it after not having one. its surprising how much it obscures your view, especially for taller drivers

It is rather large but being vertically challenged its never really got in the way it just looked too square for a curvy car.

Hey guys,
I don't have any wiring in my mirror so no faff installation it should be. So do I just pop the old one off and pop the new on to existing ball joint?
Or do you swap over the arm that attaches to windscreen too?

Hopefully this is right one, it's in its way:

@Paul Rice has swapped over a non wired one im sure its one off and one on you can not really change the arm due to the way its made. Hopefully Paul will appear and confirm.

Yep fitted 2007 Mini cooper auto dip no wires twisted the old one arm and all off twisted the new one on
Bigger than the original so does take a bit of getting used too,

My original has gone all saggy so thought I'd give it a try. I have the oval M wing mirrors and and know it's a small thing but somehow looking at oval mirrors seems so much nicer when driving than the square ones.

Got it fitted, thought I'd add my experience:

Not much bigger on paper but it sure feels it in the car. I love the shape but could do without the the chunky plastic surround. For the money it's a nice mod though and ties in with my oval wing mirrors. Just feels more roadster, like it should.
I also like the twist feature for the dipping rather than the 'flick' tab style on the original.

The pic below shows the triangular mounting that is at the end of the arm- the arms are different but the mount is exactly the same just twist the original off and twist the new on one - don't pull or push or whack it, just twist!

As mentioned above do not remove the Nirro from the arm via the ball making as that just makes the hole bigger and your mirror gets floppy or you can easily break the plastic inside the ball joint.
To get at the wiring the mini mirror glass pops off easily - just in lip the surrounding plastic and it splits in two so you can take out the wires if you don't need them or change over if you have wires in your original.

When you buy one just make sure that the plastic cover for the arm is still present, it want on mine is mine has an industrial/lightweight look about it (!)

Finally the seller I bought from was very good - the mirror arrived with a big scratch on it, contacted him via eBay and he arranged a courier to bring a replacement and collect the old one the next day.

Lucky I opened the box as the courier waited as the replacement was for a hardtop mini, not a convertible so has a different arm. No problem, just swapped the glass over whilst the courier waited.

i simply made mine, its smaller to which was the reason i changed it, though it does not have the dip option, but it is colour coded to the trim.
