Are you able to sell off excess power? Our province generates a lot of power and sells it off cheaper than I can buy it from them. Doesn't seem right to me! On the Winnipeg River which runs past my property there are seven Dams generating hydro alone. We have the last as seen in the pic. JIM

Those piccies were taken a few years ago Dave, it's all ok at the moment just some (very) big puddles on the lane to negotiate.

Yes you can Jim, In Scotland you connect your generator directly to the grid, a meter calculates how many units you have generated (supplied) a calculation is then done taking in to account the amount of units you use, if you are in credit they pop the money in to your bank. The government are offering attractive tariffs to entice people to invest in schemes so you will get a guaranteed rate per unit for a considerable time, this helps repay the initial investment. IMO without the special tariffs the schemes are not viable because it would take too long to recoup you cash investment.
