Poor show considering its returning guests
That's quite possibly true, but, taking a different slant.
Booking at arms length through a booking website removes the opportunity for direct dialogue. It's just possible that if you'd booked directly they might have said they had a big event on. They don't turn up at the last minute do they. But then again, they could have made contact sooner.

Just got to see if they do put you in a quiet part of the hotel. But, equally, removing the restaurant facility isn't what you expect either. I'm sure they will pay for a taxi to somewhere else for you - that is if you can get a table!

Just a poor start to your stay. A good place will smooth over the problems. A bad one will let you fend for yourselves.
As Paul said - they've now got all on for a repeat booking for next year. Tell them up front what's at stake. No business or more business. You never know, they might rise to the challenge.

Sorry about that. I find the smaller spur of the moment runs out more enjoyable and a lot less stress. we have had some really good days doing that this year, in 3s and 5s etc and its the way forward for me, and I think there's a few like minded Zedders out there. Plus organising an Autumn run is so stressful, will the trees cooperate will the weather etc. I've lost my hair over this years.

I know the pain Niall. I will be doing the New Forest & South Downs but the numbers will be restricted due to finding places that will take parking and food. It’s not easy.

Have to agree. Keep the big meets as static or local events and do mini cruises. Arranging cruises with dozens of cars - so much to arrange and so much to go wrong.

Agree Niall:thumbsup:, it also gives you a chance to chat with everybody. It's very hard when there are 30 cars with 50 odd peeps there.

Would also just like to add, some people seem to think that if you organize a meet/cruise that you are a travel agent, i.e. book hotels, ferry's etc.

Funny you should say that Mike... it’s one thing that is putting a lot of people off organising runs...

Having organised a run this year i would say that yeah it does take up a bit of your time planning etc but the thing i probably felt most stressed about was the feeling of you sort of take on a bit of responsibility for what happens during it making sure no one gets lost etc etc .
But i really enjoyed doing it and was great to meet some new members and ones i know .
But also agree with the whole limited numbers to all but static events as like said becomes problematic to find parking stops places to eat stay depending on where the run is these things can definitely be a put off .
But Niall wether looking good hope the trees are more autumnal than last year autumn certainly in full swing up here hope you all have a great day looking forward to the pictures

Hi all, due to popular demand the photo route is back! just for fun there is a bit of history of the two areas you are visiting
At the bottom of the original post on page 1 you will see a pdf, click on this and the route info will download. Print off if you want or just have a look but I will have copies on the day for everyone.

Got to Penyard House without any dramas, queuing etc. The wedding party is here but we managed to find a parking space luckily, although we're off to see Sara's cousin soon. When we get back here I expect I'll be parking on the grass.
They have put us in the side annex, away from the wedding nutters so it should be quiteish later.
Lovely weather at the mo, hope it lasts for tomorrow .

We arrived at Premier Inn about 15 minutes ago 2 Zeds already in the car park, Colin Doyle and A N Other. Looking forward to tomorrow's cruise and tonight's meal.
That will be me then. I might change my forum name to A N Other.
We were first here closely followed by a Z4 Coupe but they have disappeared again.

Fire alarm has just been activated. Apparently excessive heat from room 123 (Bazza's room) all met in car park.
