Makes you wonder why bother working and investing for your retirement when you have to hand over a chunk of it to HMT. Also if you need care for unseen reasons guess what, you have to pay full cost care from your hard work and being frugal.. If you blow it all as you earn it on holidays and good living you get rewarded and have everything paid for by HMT !!
The trick is to know how long you've got left. Blow all the money too soon and you'll be a burden on your loved ones. But leave it too long and hmrc will be laughing all the way to the bank.
On the other hand it won't be long before we have those futurama style suicide booths on every street corner then you can off yourself when you're made to feel that you're a burden on your loved ones.
Moan moan moan, and yes I do it about everything, but then I watch the news and think, I could have been born in Gaza or I could be like that child with cancer. This isn't really the place let's get back to Forum matters.
Well I took the decision to SORN the roadster from December 1st but did manage to get out in it at the end of last month.
So not really much else to report other than the fact that the cheque for the remaining balance of the road tax turned up last week and I've also removed the aftermarket exhaust tips which I thought were a bit lary.
I've decided to run that low mileage SAAB 9³ Aero that needs the bodywork sorting but the first quote I've had for paint was a bit of a shock to say the least.
Although the car has the S644 Bluetooth Phone Preparation option I had been unable to pair any of my phones using the code that a previous owner had captured on the inside cover of the manual.
As a result I had to strip the boot to get to the Bluetooth module so I could check the code. Turns out they had written the wrong code down and when I entered the correct passkey (1773) I had immediate success.
With the boot lining out I also took the opportunity to fit a BlueMusic adapter and check for any water ingress.
As expected everything was bone dry so replaced all the trim and attempted to connect to the BlueMusic device. Unfortunately I couldn't get it to work in fact it was even showing in Bluetooth devices. Turns out although the car was prepped for the CD changer the fuse wasn't fitted (#48) and once rectified the device appeared and I was able to connect.
Although I have the option of an Aux port that was fitted by a previous owner I like the BlueMusic device becuase it's out of sight and avoids the need for any wires
Good shout and they're only 5 minutes from me. The problem I've found though is everytime I phone them for something it's invariably been sold but I'll give it a go
Or have a look on z4forum as there's always a couple of people parting out cars , and it might not be a part they've advertised or they'll try selling with the mirror
Having removed the aftermarket exhaust tips I decided to have a go at the originals today with the Autosol - pleased with the result but forgot to take the after photo.
