Starting to get my 2.8 work underway with chrome grills, stone guards, 2nd hand but original mats and wind deflector with help from Spurs fan Andy and Davyhoogy Dave who supplied the guards. Both were really helpful. I still have seat bushes to do and want to get the Z on a ramp to check out bushes and suspension I have a small garage next to my work but they are not Z aware although they look after a few cobra reps and the odd TR6, if anyone can recommend a good garage Sussex way please let me know. I am also looking at changing the wheels but unsure on 17 or18 inch wheels handling v looks. I actually worked for a BMW garage in the 90s and used to sell Z3s we had an Orinnoco 2.8 demo which I sold to a customer of mine It had Schnitzer alloys and hard top I wonder where it is now as I know a fair bit more about its history if you happen to own one that may be it I think it was T reg. Great to be in the forum everyone has been very friendly. Cheers John

Looking very nice, I do like the green ones, probably the British Racing Green thing I remember from my younger days! As for the wheels, if you change to more 'spokey' type wheels , add quite a bit more time to your cleaning routine!! A lot to be said for simple designs, perhaps I'm just lazy.

:welcome:to the forum from West Cumbria. Nice, like the horse too

Car is coming on nicely John, only extra chrome I had on my Z3 were chrome door handle covers which came from a German company.(chrome plated stainless steel). Hope you find a good garage to use mate, it means a lot.

Tony.

I don't like blingy chrome at all on the side of a Z3!.It catches the eye and breaks up the flowing lines of the body. There is no need to gild a Lily!

(Other opinions are available.)

Bonzo.

Thanks for the replies I think it is the standard 6 cyl front bumper but would have to see another pre facelift to be sure.

Irish sports horse? Sounds a bit scary to me, quite happy with the fat section D to the left of here, even flat out I'd be able to hop off and run alongside her. And flat out would only last as long as it takes to see something edible nearby.:)

Yep does look like a 1.9 bumper so something else to put on my ever growing list. There seem to be a few on eBay and there are a few small scuffs on mine so may work in well. There seems to be two definite types of Z modified and original I'm still trying to decide which camp I,m in. Although it crosses my mind to sell and buy a 2.8 with upgrades done or a later 3.0 if poss, my car has covered 61000 with BMW history though so think it's unlikely to get a similar mileage car without paying over the odds. Anyone got a 2.8 Orinnoco or a 3.0?

I'd hang on to it if it were mine. It looks like a lovely car and with such low mileage and good history you will struggle to better it without handing over a bunch of cash.
