I recently had my 108's refurbed by City Powder Coaters in Birmingham. Fortunately all of the bolts came undone easily with no issues which was obviously a major bonus.

Below is the result - chrome rims and silver stars. Same day service with tyres on/off was £45 per wheel with another £20 to balance them with my local tyre fitter. I added loctite when reassembling them and I torqued them up to 30lbs feet. One this I did do was run a bead of clear nail varnish where the star meets the rim to try and stop water ingress and I covered the wheel weights too.

That looks a very professional refurb and I like the preventive measures you've taken to reduce water ingress. Good price too!!
 
For the money it is a cracking job - if you do the 3 / 4 day turn around then it is only £20 per wheel (tyre removed beforehand) for a one piece alloy. It's worth noting that they won't split 2 piece wheels because of the obvious time involved covering the threads - I put 6mm dowel in mine which worked fine. I'd definitely recommend them.
 
Looking at getting mine done there. But waiting to get my X5 back from the garage (engine rebuild :() so I can then take them down.

Looks like a good job. I've got plastic centre caps and need to find out if they can spray them in the same colour as what they are powder coating the wheels in.

I've used them in the past and always warned people away from taking splits there as I didn't know if they would do a good job. Nice to see someone has bitten the bullet and taken a set there and can recommend them. I presume you took them already split or did they do it and put them back together as it was a same day service? And they still did them for the same price as a normal set of wheels, usually they do balance the wheels and tyres in with the price. Most places want £100 plus per wheel for split rims, there are a few members looking at getting their 108's done at the moment.
 
I'd split them beforehand but I hadn't removed the tyres. I was planning just on OEM silver.....then I saw the chrome effect and decided to take a gamble.

Hi Simon they do look good mate. You said you put dowels (studs?) in the bolt holes (80) how did you mask the areas where the centre and the barrels fit together to prevent the coating getting on those bits please?

Hi Tony,

Not sure I follow mate. I split the wheels, put 6mm dowel in all 80 holes, handed them in, collected them 8hrs later and put them together.
 
I was told that where the two parts of the wheel contact each other had to be kept free of coating Simon, so they fit together tightly.. Did you buy some cheap screws to put into the holes mate, it's sounds like a good idea.

Well mine are absolutely fine, I slightly over torqued them so they are nice and tight, I put loctite on the threads too.

I did buy cheap screws mate, like I say I used 6mm wooden dowels in the holes to prefect the threads.
