    Z3 craving for oil?

The little clock symbol that`s showing means the brake fluid needs changing. This is a time sensitive warning and comes on every 2 years regardless of mileage.

    Roof Leak not A pillar

Southernboy recently posted his latest experience replacing a roof and goes into detail on how to remove the old sealant and put new sealant on. Worth a read https://zroadster.org/threads/fitting-a-new-roof.23009/

    Best aftermarket soft top?

Had my old 2.8 done at Croydon about 3 years ago. Great result and nice chap. Well pleased. I paid about £425 but that was because I had pockets in mine which were extra. Don`t think I`ll bother with pockets on my next one.

    Which oil for 3.0 engine?

It`s time to change the oil. I`ve read somewhere 3.0 engines are prone to use oil but using a certain grade reduces consumption. I`ve no idea what was put in last time but it`s not needed topping up after 5000 miles and I`d like to keep it that way. Any advice or personal experience would be...

    MOT and ASC

Sorry I think I`m confusing people here. My ASC is working fine, I thought I read somewhere that there was a way MOT inspections on braking systems should be done which involved switching the ASC off to prevent things happening to it when the brake test was done. I`ve probably got it mixed up in...

    MOT and ASC

Thanks, I`ll have a read of that. My concern was that if the ASC was on, would the way they brake each wheel independently be detrimental to the ASC workings.

    MOT and ASC

Hi everyone. MOT due soon and I was wondering if the ASC should be on or off for the brake test. I read somewhere, on here, .net or elsewhere something about it. I thought I must remember that but I`ve got to the age where if you don`t write it down it`s gone and it has! Thanks

    Aerial req

Hi Freds Dad, I had the same problem and managed to get a second hand one from a breaker eventually. While I was searching I put the part number in the oem search facility and it gave the following vehicles that use the same base. E36 318i Convertible E36 323i Convertible E36 325i Convertible...

    Archived WTB:Antenna Base

Probably the same b****** that did mine a month ago. Managed to get one from a breaker eventually £20 posted. They are not easy to come by. It is the same base as used on the E36 ragtop so that widens your search. Put a new grommet in while you`re at it, finishes it off nicely. Good luck.

How to fit Angel Eyes video

Here`s an interesting video from Bavarian Autosport on how to fit Angel Eyes. It`s shown on an E46 but the principle is the same and will give anyone thinking of putting these in their Z an idea of what`s involved. http://blog.bavauto.com/9839/bmw-e46-3- ... diy-video/ Sorry can`t do those...

Hi Jewell, here we go then :-h . We must have passed each other at some point and I try and wave at all zeds including z4s but they don`t seem to like us in z3s or maybe they don`t see us cause I rarely get a wave from them. Hope to see you :coolsteer)

How to find the build sheet for a BMW using reg no

Hi stevie_a, try missing the first part and go straight to the next section using your vin number. I think the first link was to get your vin without having to find your reg doc.

How to find the build sheet for a BMW using reg no

Hi GazHyde, Never thought to look in the z4 section #-o . It looks a like a good ref article. I`ll try it out with mine when I`ve a bit more time and see if mine has changed much over the years.

How to find the build sheet for a BMW using reg no

Apologies if this has already been posted but I couldn`t find it anywhere. I was looking on .net :ymblushing: and found the following info. I`m not sure that I should copy and paste from there so I`m giving the link to the original article on PH. If it`s allowed it might be a good article to be...

Hi Titan, nice to hear from Yorkshire :-bd . Live up your way for 35 years near Skipton. Miss the scenery but not the cold, :rain( and wind! Seems to have come down here to remind me lately.

    hi

That`s a great welcome. Thank you all. Looking forward to joining in the banter and sharing my experiences of solving Z problems with those who have had similar ones. Not anywhere near an expert as some on here but if it`s happened to you you become an expert on that particular subject.
