I contemplated getting another boot lid for my Z3m because as i have a spoiler fitted (which i love)and removal would require filling and re-spraying, if i ever decided to put the car back as standard. I saw one from bmwspares on e-bay same colour as mine and looked good. I have paid for it but noticed on the picture the space where the number plate goes is flush on the item i purchased, but on mine it has a recess for the plate to fit into , does anyone have any idea why these are different, as it states its for my car... There is also a circle where the m badge goes, but not on mine.... Confused

That's certainly an odd looking bumper. Thought initially it wasn't an M bumper, but the location of the boot lid badge is correct. o_O

Not sure if someone like @Lee can make sense of it...

But the original boot lid of mine has a recess built in as part of the lid, so is not an addition, thanks for the pic...

I fairly certain all ///Ms have this additional panel, do you have a pic of your boot panel?

Yep, that definitely has the additional panel, the boot lid you have bought will be fine.

resurrecting this thread... I have a one of the BMW spoilers (below) that I am looking to fit to my M, but with Z3M parts at a premium I don't really want to fill in the badge on top of my current OEM boot lid, I would prefer to take it off and store it incase of future sale and instead fit a non M boot lid and fill the BMW badge in on that and fit the spoiler to it... The question is, will any facelift boot lid suffice?

Funny you should mention that I have a friend with a spare M boot lid in the same colour. You on Facebook?

I have just sent a friend of mine a message via bookface asking if he still wants it gone.
