Hey everyone, I am the very happy owner of a Right Hand Drive 1999 BMW Z3 1.9 Auto "Montreal Blue" with the M-Sport Package, right off the streets of Japan. Currently almost bone stock, but in pretty good nick.
I imported the car with about 10k miles on the clock, now it sits proudly at around 30k, it has given me nothing but smiles and trouble free driving.

For three years I've been beating on this poor thing like I stole it, its been daily driven and with no mercy, track days happen way more often than they should on a daily car, and its spent more time sideways than not. With work and studies and a really busy schedule, the little problems have been racking up and a massive resto-mod is definitely long overdue.

Done Repairs:
Alternator Rebuild
Redone front and rear bushings

Current Mods:
Bilstien Shocks and Springs all around
an Alpine Head Unit
Windshield Mounted Camera
Handmade Rear window (because I couldn't find the part :joyful:)
E46 Style 68 17" Wheels with 225/40 in front and 245/45 in the back
E36 Aircon Compressor

Current Issues:
Thermostat Stuck Open
Traction Control + ABS Light on (could be a simple wiring issue)
Various interior lights and trim pieces need replacement

Maintenance Items required:
Literally no brake disks/pads left at all :D
Ignition System needs a checkup
Exhaust is probably old and cracked and leaky and generally knackered

Mod Plans:
Biggest Brakes I could fit before my wallet starts screaming in pain
A decent wrap
Cruise Control retrofit
A nice exhaust
If the planets align an M54B30 Manual Swap but lets not dream too much

On Going Repairs/Mods:
ABS/ASC Module https://zroadster.org/threads/the-dreaded-abs-traction-control-light.28399/

Always keep the top down!

Hello and welcome to the forum. First job should be your thermostat then do your brakes. Your ABS is most likely wheel sensors and best idea is to clear the fault with a code reader and see if it comes back on.

Wow, I was not expecting such an absolutely epic response to my post. Sorry for not replying sooner, my work keeps me on a really tight schedule (even on weekends) and I rarely get to have some time to myself. Driving my pride and joy to and from work is one of the only things that keeps me going through the day.

The OBD-2 reader I mentioned earlier just arrived, for those who are interested, should I make a new post or just continue this thread as I diagnose my ABS and Traction Control module?
P.S. thermostat is ordered and on its was to living a happy little life in my engine!

Hi. You could start up a Progress Thread for your car that can be followed or you could just pop it in a specific thread.

Hey everyone!
First of all thanks for your overwhelming support and making me feel at home in this community from the first day! Also I really must apologise for my infrequent visits I'll try to update more frequently!
as its been suggested, I'll go ahead and create a new post for every major issue and occasionally update this post with overall progress, small stuff and etc. Thanks everyone again for your warm welcome and support!
