I thought it about time I posted a couple of pics of Scarab II. Scarab I was my previous '97 Z3 2.8 which I have replaced with a 3.0.
When I bought the new car it was black everywhere and only useful as a hearse for small animals. So I set about changing the interior to something a little more "roadster"... I chose Indianapolis red as the alternate colour to offset the black leather. The car came with the extended leather package. I stripped off the dash leather and replaced it with the Indy red as well as the door cards. The OEM console has been replaced with an M version which has the 2 gauges and analog clock below the climate controls. I also opted to cover the steering wheel upper trim in the same Indy red colour leather. On the exterior I replaced the headlight amber indicator lenses with my clear lenses I make, and also fitted the CCFL angel eye trims. The amber side indicator covers have been replaced with the clear version as were the rear tail light fittings replaced with the clear vs amber units.
Door mirrors and rear view mirror have been replaced with the M version units.
