Apologies for my first post not being a proper introduction. I've owned 2 x zeds and been a regular on the z4forum for a number of years.

A few years back I made some stainless steel protectors for the underside of the ///M front bumper for e85's and e86's (identical to the RPI ones). They match the contour of the bumper perfectly and stop potential damage to paint and the bumper itself.

I was then asked if it would be possible to make a ram air scoop, also similar to the scoop sold by RPI, for both e85's / 6's. I've made close to 100 of these now, which have mainly been sold on the z4forum. I have also been selling these on ebay for £45 delivered.

A zroadster member recently bought one and mentioned it may be worth offering them here.

The fang protectors come laser-cut to size and drilled but not painted as will never be seen. The air scoops come powder coated black but many have then sprayed them a different colour of their choice.

I have approx 20 of these scoops ready to go if anyone is interested. I initially did this as a forum project with no profit, just helping out fellow enthusiasts. They sell for £35 delivered on z4forum and as I have some spare, will offer the same to zroadster members. If anyone is interested, I can also make fang protectors at £20 per pair delivered.

A few pictures and links below to the RPI website (mine are identical).

Any questions, feel free to ask.

Hi and welcome from me in Scotland .
Unfortunately I own a z3 but I'm sure that a number of the z4 owners on here may be interested in them .

Hi Gaz

I thought I recognized the name!! There's a few other familiar names, reading through posts.

I haven't got round to fitting on my new zed either  but it's on the list of winter jobs!

Hi Dan I will be having one of your scoops but need to get a wheel refurb done before anything else. BTW welcome from me near Lincoln. I fitted a Ramair induction kit last year and love the roar I get from it.

Hi Tony, thanks for the welcome! I had a k&n on my last zed and loved the roar from that, not got round to fitting one on this car yet but its on the list. I'm planning on making a shield similar to the AFe one at some stage.

I'm halfway there with the heat shield mate. I'll post some pictures later.
So here's a few pictures of my induction up to now @Danzzzz

As you can see it's a fair sized bucket of a filter, the end is mounted right up to the cold air feed for the original airbox, and, the cone is open ended so the cold air is literally rammed into the MAF. One of your scoops can only improve on a good set up I think.

I'm halfway there with the heat shield and have just seen my supplier and ordered some more alloy sheet to make the top for it.

Tony.

Exactly what I was looking at making with the top part also. Did you make and design yourself? I was going to try and copy the AFe one if I can find someone that will lend me one!!

The filter sounds awesome, makes the engine sound like it should’ve from stock imo

Yes it's home made mate. Took me a couple of hours one afternoon. I made one for my old Z3 a few years ago and it now lives on @Grumps Z3. I just start with a piece of cardboard (usually an old large air filter box from work) and make a template and then lay it on the alloy sheet marking the bends etc. I use a roller cutter for a nice cut and bend with a couple of short pieces of thick-ish angle iron and a vice. Always draw file the cut edges to make them smooth and safe near hands  Rubber bobbins for the mounting bars (fuel pump mountings for a Cavalier or similar is good). I bought the filter last year on a Black Friday "Make me an offer" deal on eBay. Fastened down on the chassis rail with some self drilling/tapping screws I acquired from somewhere .....;)

I always say the induction noise is for the driver and the exhaust for everyone else.:)
