Hello, im planning on selling my 97 z3 2.8 and replacing it with a z4 coupe. What are the differences between the specs with the se and the sport?
Any particular weak points on the car?
Generally, what should i be looking for.

Thank you for any help

Not much difference mainly just the seats and suspension which on the sport are MSport variants - other than that the sport came as standard with better spec alloys.

Obviously by now all those things could have been swapped out but this link gives you the originally specs for every 3.0Si that was produced.

I know the "sport" springs on the roadsters tend to crack at the ends where they are tapered, not sure if the coupes have the same issue but it could be worth taking a look to see if the springs have been replaced/upgraded before buying.

Roadster and Coupe springs are the same. All springs tend to snap where they taper off. Never seen one break in the centre in all my life. Not sure what you mean by "upgraded"?

Tony.

By that I mean, a previous owner may have upgraded to an aftermarket non-tapered spring, either same spring rate or a "performance" kit.
