Newly acquired 2001 model Z3 2.2 found to be allowing water ingress to passenger footwell . Appears to be coming in via scuttle area below windscreen, definitely not via soft top or screen seal..
I am unsure of the drainage system on these cars, are there tubes that get blocked ? or can any one offer advice as to what needs sealing ?
Any help would be much appreciated.
Mick

Various places where water can enter common one is at the top of the a pillar if you look with roof down you will see a triangle shape bung in top of seal ( at top of a pillar) make sure it has no splitting around the edges.
Have a look at passenger side under seat find split between front and rear carpets stick your fingers in the gap feel underneath the carpet for wetness.
Zed 3 can hold litres of water under the carpets in the foam and still be dry on top.
If wet under there you need to deal with it ASAP as your zed being a 2.2 should have DSC traction control rather than the early ASC if so you will have a yaw sensor bolted to the floor underneath the carpet below the seat these sensors really don't like getting wet causing Abs/dsc faults expensive to replace.
Stephen.

Interesting. I noticed a small amount of "wet" on my passenger over mat having washed the car over the weekend; just by the parcel net. My A pillar seals etc are fine so took out the below windscreen scuttle panel to look for blockage or other such thing. Surprisingly, the area was very clean and only a few leaves. Noticed two "inch long" drain holes (I assume this is what they are?) but these were totally clear.
No help at all to OP (sorry!) but would also be interested in any experience of this.
Cheers,
Ian

Thanks for comments guys, checked out under seat Stephen no sign of water ingress (my car has ASC) also water entry is below A pillar in scuttle area dripping in exactly where Ian found his by parcel net ! Was removal of plastic scuttle quite straight forward Ian ?
With the hose running the majority of the water seems to be exiting below the engine more central than I would have expected. Thankfully only a very small amount finds its way into the car, but still annoying..
Be lucky

Maybe also have a look at the seals for the heater matrix pipes as they go through the bulkhead right about in line with the centre console on Nearside

Fairly straight forward really. Remover wipers, remove clips (first inner clip just pulls out) then rubber seal.

Ok. At next opportunity attempt removal of scuttle and hopefully gain access to heater matrix pipes. Best guess that could be the culprit. 🤔

I had exactly the same problem and it was driving me mad. It turned out to be a blocked hood drain tube. If you look at the hood hinge just behind the trailing edge of the door you will see a hole, use a stiff rod to clear it. If blocked it will settle in the front footwell giving the impression that it coming from the scuttle.
This should be regular maintenance, if it is only partially blocked the water will sit under the carpet and you won't be aware of it, there is a lot of electrics located under the carpet.

Jaguar thanks for this tip, any chance you could post a pic of where you mean? Would be much appreciated for all usbz3 owners trying to track down this passenger footwell ingress
