I don't know if this has been posted before but the video has only recently been uploaded to YouTube and not one that I've seen before.

They dump an M60 V8 engine into this Z3 whilst restoring bits of it and strengthening the chassis to support the extra power at the same time.

Thought it was an interesting video and makes me wish I had proper indoor space to work on my zed!! :( Not that I have the knowledge to dump another engine in a car =))

One of our members has a Chevy V8, followed it a couple of times and when he puts his foot down;

1. You think you've stopped :arghh:
2. The Planet revolves the other way :woot:
3. It rattles your fillings out :nurse:

Good though
:scorecard:

Amazing. I'd love to be able to fabricate stuff like that!

That's a great project and it's sure got plenty of extra steel added to it. I would have invested some cash in a better quality welder though. The weld quality on most of those extra strengtheners / struts is pretty poor given the attention to detail in the rest of the project.

That must be one of the stiffest 2 door convertibles on the planet

I could do the fabrication a lot better then the work done in the video, I agree that the chassis needs to be strengthened but I think its a bit OTT,
