Ater my z spending 3 weeks in total at the garage for the seat adjuster not working and shelling out £370 at the weekend for 2 replacement seats from ebay,i finally fixed it my self tonight ! I'm a bit bemused with the mechanic i've used for over 10 years has cost me a fortune after following his advise,at 1st said it may be the switch so i told him to get 1 although the oem was £243 but he wouldn't commit to it saying some thing deeper within the seat could be causing the fault so advised me to source a used seat, not easy to find sports seats but as luck would have it ebay produced the goods but it was a listing for a pair of seats, door cards, centre console, switches etc,so £371 later i was the 'winning bidder'. The seller swore all was working fine so today took the car back to the garage, seat swiftly exchanged by the young employee...all working he says.I get in the car start it up,air bag light stays on,the main man plugs in the fault reader, cant get rid of the light :meh:. turns out there's a connector not present on this seat that was present on the original one :meh: main man tells me get bypass resister thing...ok. Get home and try the new seat, back and forth fine,up and down...nothing ! Well fed up so i take it upon myself to remove the seat and test the motor...its dead. What joy :sour:. So the mission begins, remove the switch and wiring and put on my original seat as i know the motors are fine...3.5 hours later swap all done, refit to the car plug it all back in....BINGO all fine and dandy :D. BUT the air bag is still staying on :grumpy:. Perhaps it just needs resetting ? So now have the seats etc to sell on if any one is interested, but the passanger seat will need a replacement switch and motor, saw a few motors for £10 on ebay and switch for £40.I'm off to raid the fridge now for another can of stella cider,to help me unwind :ymdevil:

If you happen to be passing ours on your way to Cadwell Steve, I have an airbag light re-set tool.

Your right there Tony i'm so relieved . Still in disbelief that the garage made such a hash of the job and i ended up resolving it myself. Got to reassemble the seat i bought as replacement now so i can get the interior sold on....that i didn't need :meh:. Thanks again Tony for your kind offer to reset the warning light ;)

How the garage can be so casual about tying up your car for three weeks and end up with you fixing it yourself and going to those lengths to secure the eBay auction mind boggles me! Well done and I hope you trampled them. JIM
