By the part number you provide , it is a six. I had a hairline crack in my rad earlier in the year and I got a Nissens rad from ECP, half the price of OEM and it has done well so far.

Thanks for the information, I had ordered a Nissens radiator from ECP yesterday and am collecting it today.

Thanks again

Nissens,
Top quality Original Equipment manufacturer for many vehicle Marques.

Whilst stripped out, it would be sensible to change the fan clutch if it hasn't already been changed...........

I've never known a BMW part number ending with a suffix letter. I can only assume this may be a reference to a supplier or maybe Country of manufacture and is not part of the part number.

VW on other hand do regularly change the supplier or make a design improvement and this is identified by a letter after the part number, for example if the suffix letter is D,E,F,G,H etc this means the part has been superseded many times.

When BMW make a supersession they change the part number completely.

The part number should be 17 10 1 715 319
