Just had a look on mine car, same shape but black, also want to know what would go in the blank next to it.
It's the for the alarm and it's not a switch.
That's the Alarm System Activated lamp (red) - is that the one you mean?

Mine is the 2002 3.0i sport and does not have the amber switch. Will look in mine to see if elsewear.
It will have one John, the indicator lamp is dark red but looks black in the shadows of the car.
