Hi all, this was my project but unfortunately it has been given a sideline to concentrate on other things!

As it stands its a 1998 Hell Rot Red 1.9 Z3.

Came to us as a non runner, so we bought an engine from a 318 and put it in, the original engine had done 203,000 the donor engine has done 95,000.

As far as I can tell the car will need to following done:

Full Spray
Drivers Door Card
Drivers Seat Re Trim or Replace
New Rear Bumper Stop to be installed
Lights to be re installed
Handbrake shoes replaced
New Rear Window to be stitched in
Replacement drivers wing mirror needed

We did all round brakes, and a service.

I'm asking £350 as is, I'm not breaking it up as we don't have time to do so.

Is the paint just flat and may polish out? Maybe with selective panels replaced for better ones?

Or does it really need a respray?

I'd full spray it to be honest but it's personal preference isn't it? Sorry didn't read your reply in full, yes body panel changes would be ok, I just didn't look to be honest, as we could have sprayed for cost

My 17 year old daughter wants a red 1.9 Z3. I've told her she'll have to spend 3-5 years building up her no claims before she can even think about that. So she's aspiring to a BMW Mini in the meantime. But I said I'd look out for a Z3 for her as a long term project - I've got 3 cars ahead in the line first so it might just be ready in time if I bought it now!

I'm looking at getting a van with a tow bar and then they'll be no stopping me instead of paying £200-300 a time for transportation. In the meantime I guess I better stop speculating and say Norwich is a bit too far from Swindon to recover.

If it wasn't for the fact you were so far away from me i would take it off you but you are about 400 miles from me transport would be too expensive :(

Offer of £250 received for it on eBay, what do you think?
£350 is okay. Personally I wouldn't take £250 for it unless you're desperate for the space/money.

I do think any more than £350 could have been too much. It's likely to cost £300 to transport it out of Norwich to down south for example. For £800 you could get a running, MOT'd car you can move yourself.

But would be perfectly happy at £350 myself - when I get my trailer sorted.

Yes being in Norwich does have its downside!

You can rent a trailer around this way for £60 per day. £200 deposit with winch and tilt bed.
And in Swindon too. But you need a vehicle with a tow bar. You can't hire vans with tow bars for insurance reasons as I understand it.

That's a bummer mate... Would have been cheapo and easy with a towbar.. Can you not borrow a motor from anyone with a towbar as trailer hire probably same price all over uk.

Yes, I could ask. Couple of people on my team at work. But they both have nice cars and it can all get a bit awkward.

I need to get myself a van. I do stuff needing a good load carrying capacity so I've had Alhambras for 17 years. But I'm having a mid-life crisis and I've got my eye on a 3GT now. When I get that I'll get a van (with a tow bar).

I'm never having a mid life crisis apparently!! My wife says I'm still in childhood. Don't know what kind of tow bars you use but so many vehicles here don't have bumpers capable of towing or mounting a bar! JIM
